Emily Taylor Elected to the Board of Directors

ANN ARBOR, MI, March 21, 2016 – The Joyce Ivy Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to broadening the college aspirations of talented female high school students from the Midwest, today announced the election of Emily Taylor to its Board of Directors. Ms. Taylor is a resident of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

“We are pleased to welcome Emily to the Board,” said Maya Aravind, a director on the Board. “This is a dynamic group of individuals that cares deeply about creating opportunities for talented young women, and Emily is going to add a lot to the leadership of the Joyce Ivy Foundation.”

“As we enter our second decade, the Joyce Ivy leadership is focused on serving a growing alumnae community and the long-term financial position of the Foundation,” said S. Caroline Kerr, Chief Executive Officer of the Joyce Ivy Foundation. “Emily has a passion for mentoring young women in their pursuit of education, and she brings professional development experience. As an alumna of Smith, where Emily received her undergraduate degree and served on the Board of Trustees, she also understands the kind of educational opportunities we make available to our Summer Scholars.”

Emily Taylor is a management consultant at McKinsey & Company and works out of the Detroit office. Prior to joining McKinsey, Ms. Taylor worked as a fundraiser at both Smith College and Skidmore College. She is a graduate of Smith College and holds M.B.A. and M.S. degrees from the University of Michigan. She serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors of World’s Window, a non-profit that supports education for students in rural parts of Belize. Ms. Taylor previously served on the Smith College Board of Trustees.

“I’m thrilled to join this mission-driven organization,” said Ms. Taylor. “As an alumna of a partner college, I can attest to the power of educating our young women, particularly those from the Midwest. I look forward to helping raise the sights of our Scholars, and it will be an honor to support them through this exciting journey.”
