New Executive Director Selected to Lead Joyce Ivy Foundation
We are thrilled to announce that the Joyce Ivy Foundation has begun a new chapter in our leadership with the appointment of Dr. Michelle O. Rosynsky as the Executive Director of the Joyce Ivy Foundation. With proven success empowering women, improving access to higher education, and leading nonprofits, Dr. Rosynsky’s experience is ideally suited to leading Joyce Ivy’s efforts to help young women from the Midwest grow and shine.
“I am honored to join the Joyce Ivy Foundation,” said Dr. Rosynsky. “The Foundation’s commitment to advancing the education, leadership and empowerment of young women resonates deeply with me. I look forward to working with the board, staff, alumnae, and supporters to build on this remarkable legacy.”
Prior to joining the Joyce Ivy Foundation, Dr. Rosynsky served as the CEO of the YWCA Greater Flint, where she successfully established a new Women’s Empowerment Center and the Girls ASPIRE Leadership Program, a summer experience for middle school girls in Genesee County. She has also held several leadership positions in higher education, serving as the Director of the Women’s Educational Center and the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs at the University of Michigan-Flint. Early in her career, Dr. Rosynsky worked to establish the first residential, summer pre-college program for girls in science, math and engineering in New Jersey.
Dr. Rosynsky earned her doctorate at the School of Education-Rutgers University in educational administration and policy, with a focus on women’s leadership in higher education. Additionally, Michelle has been recognized for her commitment to women’s education and empowerment, receiving the University of Michigan-Flint Dorothea Wyatt Award as well as the YWCA Greater Flint Women of Achievement Award.
“We are delighted and honored to have Dr. Rosynsky continue Joyce Ivy’s tradition of excellent leadership,” said Valerie Brader, Chair of the Joyce Ivy Board of Directors. “We have confidence that her passion for empowering young women, combined with her visionary leadership and proven ability to build collaborative partnerships, will allow us to reach even more young women and ensure the Midwest is well-represented in the next generation of leaders.”
